ID Released For Man Shot Dead After Swinging Sword In Long Island Liquor Store

The identity has been released of the man shot dead after swinging a Samurai sword at a liquor store on Long Island.

Sixth Precinct officers responded to Port Jeff Liquors, located at 156 E. Main St. in Port Jefferson after a clerk at the store called 911at 2:23 p.m., stating he shot a man who came into the store swinging a sword. 

After an investigation by Homicide Squad detectives, it was determined, Theodore Scoville, 50, entered the store, swung a samurai sword three times before the clerk shot him. Scoville was pronounced dead in the store.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
